Do you meditate with your kids?

There are numerous studies pointing to the benefits of meditation in children's brains and behaviour.

But do you actually meditate with your kids or does the idea of sitting down and closing your eyes while you try to get your kids to do the same seem ludicrous and far fetched?

If this is something you would like to try, go for it without any expectations.

Sit together on comfy cushions and close your eyes and ask your kid to do the same.

Maybe for a minute, maybe two, depending on your child's age.

You might want to play music on the background or use an app like calm ( www.calm.com)

My first trials were not really successful. The kids got bored and would get up or jump on me.

But practice makes perfect and I love our little routine of meditating together for a few minutes every night. My youngest prefers to hold her breath for three seconds and exhale for five. My eldest is more keen on ocean sounds and birds singing.

So have a a go . Get some crystals and admire their texture and colours. Put them in your hands and roll them. Say a mantra, or not.

Remember there are no rights or wrongs
